The Celtic boss insisted he did not fear dismissal, claiming, “We are really close to a turnaround,” even after sliding worryingly close to the chopping block with a heavy setback against their arch-rivals.

Another Capitulation Sees Old Firm Defeat

Celtic were in front their oldest rivals at the break but a second-half capitulation allowed Danny Röhl’s team to draw level on points with the reigning Scottish Premiership champions. The French coach, who was brought in from the MLS, has now overseen six setbacks in eight fixtures.

“The performance we had at times was really, really, really high. That happened. I could not talk like that if it was different. Therefore, when it comes to wins, I mentioned it's a repeating pattern. Which is why I feel a change is coming to getting it right. Right now: details, details, details.”

“I saw a lot of encouraging signs that we did, once more. However it’s about performing for 90 minutes. My message would be different if I didn't believe it. Therefore I am convinced we will manage to get back on track.”

Röhl’s Cautious Stance

Danny Röhl refused to contemplate a title charge in spite of what seemed like a landmark win. “One match at a time, and we can develop momentum,” he said. “The belief in the squad is excellent.”
